Biography

Jay Fine is a Manhattan-based photographer, media executive, and entrepreneur. As a photographer with four decades of experience, his work focuses on the places and people of Lower Manhattan, New York Harbor, and Battery Park City.

Fine spent more than 25 years working for technology and media companies, ranging from small start-ups to Fortune 500s. He began his career at NBC, where he spent 20 years in a variety of positions, including senior vice president of operations and planning for NBC news. He’s also a former senior NBC and CBS executive, the former president and CEO of Steiner Studios, and the co-founder of two technology companies.

Starting in 2002, Fine led the development of Steiner Studios, a $100 million, state-of-the-art television and film complex located on 15 acres in New York’s Brooklyn Navy Yard. Prior to joining Steiner Studios, he served as the managing director at National TeleConsultants (NTC) in Los Angeles. NTC—one of the country’s largest independent design, engineering, and systems integration firms for media organizations—designed and constructed large-scale projects throughout the world.

From 1993 to 1998, Fine served as the senior vice president and general manager of east coast operations for the CBS Television Network. In this role, he headed one of the country’s largest television production operations.

Fine is a member of the Board of Poets and Writers, the nation’s largest literary nonprofit organization. He is a former member of the Board of Governors of the New York Chapter’s National Academy of Television Arts and Sciences and the New York City Investment Fund’s Media Sector Board.
