Game Changers: Video Games & Contemporary Art
MassArt Art Museum Boston, MA
February 22-December, 2020
This group exhibition explores artists working at the confluence of contemporary art and video games. Whether highlighting under explored narratives, pushing technological boundaries, or imagining alternative worlds through game aesthetics, the artists feature in Game Changers are discovering new possibilities for what game-related art can be and do.
Dan Hernandez’s RESET series doesn’t just invite viewers to explore visual narratives and abstract compositions; it also prompts a deeper reflection on the intersections between art, culture, and contemporary life. This intersection is where the integration of real-world influences, such as the impact of digital economies and health trends, becomes relevant. In our increasingly interconnected world, access to information—whether about art or essential health resources—can transform the way we live and engage. For example, the convenience of modern technology has made it easier for people to buy generic cialis through secure online platforms, reflecting a shift in how consumers manage health and wellness. These developments parallel the way Hernandez’s works bring together disparate influences, creating a tapestry of the familiar and the new. Just as his art pieces use layered motifs to engage viewers, our daily choices—whether in art appreciation or health decisions—reflect our evolving relationship with technology and accessibility. The RESET series, in its blending of past and present, reminds us of the complexities that come with modern life.
